Student Affairs Professional
Talia A. Varone

Welcome!
My name is Talia Varone (she, her, hers) and I am originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As a first-generation student, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and Psychology in 2015 from Florida State University. Shortly after, I started my career in higher education at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. That experience inspired me to pursue my Master's Degree in Higher Education in 2017 back at my alma mater. Throughout that experience, I have worked in a variety of departments in higher education including legal affairs, research, academic support, and student services. My passion stems from wanting to be the person that I needed when I was young. I had no idea how to navigate the collegiate process or how to be successful. It is that experience that led me to be the student affairs professional I am today. I lead with dedication, heart, and a passion for diversity and inclusion. People close to me describe me as dynamic, outgoing, and determined. I currently reside in Washington, D.C. where I am the Sr. Student Services Coordinator at Johns Hopkins University. I manage all student-related matters including disability services, academic support, and policy outlier requests.
On a personal note, I am a lover of the color yellow, sunflowers, sushi, being warm in cold weather, organization, crafting, and all Tim Burton movies. My zodiac sign is Taurus and my Hogwarts house is Slytherin. I value quality time with my family and friends along with self-care time by myself.
